We should mention that the great stylists at Cutler Salon do understand the best techniques and that is why they are the official stylist of Whom You Know. Peter Sabitini's book on Hair Cutting is an excellent book to own for anyone getting into the hair dressing business! In fact I found it so informative I believe anyone can find this very useful whether you're an expert or someone looking for some info on hair. I really appreciate how Mr. Sabatini combines scientific background and the art of hair cutting to educate his reader. You really learn about the weight factor of the hair, what affects it and techniques used to enhance it. Really, this book was a great read and I'm not even a hairstylist! But the next time I get my hair done I'll be a little more knowledgeable and that feels great! This book was also very easy to read. I liked that it wasn't filled with jargon and found it very interesting.?
When I first saw Peter Sabatini's book Haircutting: A Philosophy and Science to Precision and Textured Haircutting, I was unsure what to expect. This had to be one of the most interesting books I've read in quite a while. Only going to my stylist to either trim or cut my hair and to maintain my color, I don't think beyond just scissors cutting my hair. Now that I know a little more of how the hair works and some of the best ways to cut it, I can have a better understanding of what is happening when I'm getting my hair cut. I also like that Mr. Sabatini mentions that if your hair is cut by it's weight factor, you can comb it the way you want it styled and just let the air take it's course. I don't like to blow dry my hair if I don't have to, and this method of cutting hair proves you don't have to. One of my best friends is a hairstylist and I will definitely have to tell her about this book. I think this should be a must read for all hairstylists and a procedure that should be considered. I'm sure after everything I've read by Peachy about the Cutler Salon, they are using all the right techniques. If I'm ever visiting New York from the Midwest and I need my hair done, I know where I will be going.?

But now, thanks to Peter Sabatini's book, Hair Cutting: A Philosophy and Science to Precision and Texturized Haircutting, we do! Mr. Sabatini has been cutting hair for over 50 years, and trained at some of the top haircutting academies in the world, including Vidal Sassoon and Paul Mitchell. However, he was always left wondering why the haircutting techniques he was observing and learning worked! So, in this book, he gets to the root (so to speak!) of the issue! In this easy-to-read guide, he explains the basic science behind how and why hair grows, the importance of the weight factor of hair, and lays out very precisely how to work with the weight factor of the hair to create hairstyles that compliment the appearance, keep their shape, and are simple to maintain.
