Why Fitness is important for your physical health?

Everyone dreams of leading a healthy lifestyle, but statistics shows otherwise. In today?s world, staying fit has become a big concern.? We have so much comfort and luxury around us, but have no time for exercises. Staying fit is more difficult nowadays than ever before. Many common health problems are the result of an inactive lifestyle and can be minimized or prevented by improving your physical fitness.

Staying in shape means to have an active participation in various activities and being involved in some kind of physical exercises on a regular basis.

Here are the two major fitness categories that are considered:

  • General fitness ? the state of your health and wellness. Physical fitness is generally achieved through correct nutrition, exercise, hygiene and rest.
  • Specific fitness ? task oriented activities that is based on the ability to perform specific aspects of sports or work.

You should be both mentally and physically sound to call yourself fit. Regular physical activity will help you to achieve both.

Fitness benefits toward physical health

?

Live a long and healthy life

Regular exercise reduces the risk of developing heart disease, a stroke, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, obesity, breast and colon cancer and osteoporosis.

Limit illness

Both aerobic exercise and weight lifting strengthen the immune system. The stronger your immune system, the less often you will get sick. Doctors have found that exercise can improve your immune system by helping the cells in your body that are assigned to attack bacteria.

?

Increase energy, strength and stamina levels

Participating in regular exercise gives you more energy and allows you to handle common household activities such as moving furniture or climbing stairs.

Achieve or maintain a healthy weight

If your weight loss program includes exercise, you will lose body fat without losing muscle without slowing down your metabolism. If you?re currently at a healthy weight, regular exercise will help you avoid putting on excess body fat in the future.

Reduce lower back pain

Strengthening your abdominal and lower back muscles can help prevent lower back pain. You can also avoid back surgery by strengthening your abdominal and lower back muscles.

Strengthening your bones

Both men and women start losing bone mass at the age of 35. ?Weight lifting exercise can stop the loss of bone mass and reduces the risk of osteoporosis. Some examples of weight-bearing exercises include weight training, walking, hiking, jogging, climbing stairs, tennis, and dancing.

Strengthening your muscles

If you have stronger muscles, you can do more. Not only will you be a better athlete, but you can more easily do things like change a tire or work in the garden. If your muscles are strong injuries will be limited. Regular resistance exercises can reduce the steady decline in strength with age.

Better sleeping pattern

People who exercise regularly fall asleep faster and wake up less often during the night than people who do not participating in physical exercise.

Enjoy life

Life is much more enjoyable when you?re fit and healthy. When you look good and feel good you are much more productive in everything you do.

Where to start getting fit?

To maintain good physical health and reduce the risk of health problems, health professionals and researchers recommend at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity if possible, every day.

You must think of movement as an opportunity, not an inconvenience. Try to be active every day in as many ways as you can. Go for a walk or bicycle ride instead of using the car or take the stairs instead of the elevator.

You can also do some regular or strong exercise for extra health and fitness like jogging and aerobics. Select a fitness activity that is suitable for yourself and something that you can enjoy several times per week for example: swimming, yoga, Pilates, tennis or other sporting activities.

Set Realistic Goals to Get Fit

You can set a goal for 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity per day, but don?t try to meet it at the start.? Begin by walking 15 minutes a day, two or three days a week and then gradually adding more time and intensity until you achieve your goal of 30 minutes per day. A gradual start will help you to reduce the risk of injury and keep you from getting discouraged.

Physical activity program

It is a good idea to see your doctor first before starting a physical activity program if you have the following difficulties:

  • You are over 40 years old
  • Physical activity causes pain in your chest
  • You often faint or have periods of severe dizziness
  • Moderate physical activity makes you breathless
  • You are at risk of heart disease or have other heart problems

By starting to get your body in shape you have made the first step in the right direction, but the key to staying fit is not limited to physical fitness.Mental strength and a positive outlook also play a key role in the process.
