Veteran singer Kabuye Ssembogga recently took musical stock of his 35 years in the music industry. The singer billed for songs like Sheila, Kangume, Twebelera Eno, (Ebisanyi)Bimbunyebunye, Fahima, Onyambanga among other beautiful songs, was guest singer at Shooters Sports Bar in Najjanankumbi.

Music Critics will agree that this is one Ugandan artiste that has not enjoyed his due respect and limelight, yet he is a gifted vocalist and lyricist. Well, revellers could not have enough of this veteran singer that started out in the late 1970s with Elly Wamala?s Mascots Band. ?Please sing for us Ebisanyi or Sheila,? the fans requested when Kabuye asked which number they wanted to hear him perform. His music strongly appeals to emotions particularly because his best numbers are love songs.

?Surprisingly I have never had a girl called Sheila,? he told me when I asked him about whether there is a lady in his life that he was directing this love song to. ?I am an artiste and for all my songs, I have always played an artistic role- letting myself into other people?s shoes or merely tickling my imagination and fantasies,? the singer who ought to be eulogised in the leagues of the likes of fallen baritone star Jimmy Katumba, added.

And the fans just could not let him have his drink as they kept asking for more. And their love was exhibited through tipping the artiste with money as he emotively belted out.
