Tear Ring Saga - Japanese PlayStation Exclusive Fire Emblem ...

Tear-Ring-Saga-Japanese-PlayStation-Exclusive-Fire-Emblem-Style-Tactical-RPG-Gets-Fan-TranslatedIn 2001 the development studio Tirnanog, founded by the?creator of the hugely popular tactical role-playing game series?Fire Emblem, released their own take on the top-down turn-based battler. Tear Ring Saga was released both exclusively in Japan and on the PlayStation, which has recently been fan translated to English.

The translation patch, however, is not 100% complete. Fan translation group Ayashii Gamesubs has released this patch in the hopes that it will stir up some further interest to finish off the few bits of missing script. For the rest of us, we now have access to yet another RPG that failed to travel outside of Japan.

Although it received no sequels or follow ups, Tear Ring Saga if anything is the spiritual successor to the Fire Emblem series. After just a few minutes of playing this game you'll have trouble telling the two games apart. The graphical style, anime characters, story, gameplay and battle system are all?reminiscent of Nintendo's flagship tactical RPG, which in our opinion is a good thing - Nintendo, however, was far from happy and a?series of lawsuits?began surfacing.
