NFL films has lost its president. Steve Sabol died last Tuesday after his long battle against a brain tumor. He passed away in Moorestown, New Jersey at age 69.
Based on reports, Steve learned about his tumor and that it could not be removed back in March 2011. He fought it for a year and a half before finally succumbing to it. He is survived by his wife, Penny, son, Casey, parents, Audrey and Ed, and sister, Blair.
Steven Sabol is credited for the rise in popularity of football back in the 70s. He is considered as a major contributor to the success of NFL that the league enjoys today. Though it was his father, Ed Sabol, who started NFL Films, Steve was the one who utilized its full potential and revolutionized sports films with his use of music, slow motion and montage editing.

Sabol, who had served as president of NFL Films since 1985, died Tuesday, the company announced. He had been diagnosed with brain cancer in March 2011.?

Steve Sabol?s work in their NFL Films introduced the football to the world. For that, he surely deserves to be commended and highly regarded even in his death.
